Overview

H&W provide cleaning solutions to premium private healthcare providers.

We have over 14 years’ experience cleaning within the private healthcare industry. H&W provide the following cleaning solutions to our private healthcare clients:

Challenge

Standards of hospital cleanliness are exceptionally high and maintaining these standards supports the successful efforts to reduce the incidence of healthcare associated infections, such as MRSA. The CQC periodically monitor, inspect and regulate healthcare services. Adhering to the mandated infection control KPIs is of paramount importance. Understandably at times, operating theatres may overrun, or have last minute situations meaning our cleaners have to be flexible in accommodating their cleaning needs around times which suits our client.

Ensuring the correct cleaning protocols are adhered to for different environments within the hospital has a direct impact on both recovery rates and levels of cross infection for patients being cared for.

Solution

We pride ourselves on having a well-trained and industry experienced cleaning team and we continually train our people to keep up to date with the most up to date procedures and policies ensuring high standards of cleaning is consistently adhered to. H&W work closely with infection control to carry out audits and identify any failings, this is also an opportunity to constantly review any changes in requirements and update the cleaning schedule appropriately. Where possible the Cleaning Team are included in the auditing process to better understand the requirements. Quality meetings are then held with the Cleaning Team following audits and also on an ad-hoc basis to discuss successes and areas that need attention, the team are always provided with a copy of the audit and a timescale to make improvements. We firmly believe communication between H&W, the Cleaning Team and our client is essential to achieving a high standard of cleanliness.

H&W provide a full DBS check for our cleaning operatives, due to the nature of the environment this ensures safeguarding patients safety. Flexibility of our staff is paramount as we have to accommodate theatre hours around our working hours.

Being QEC ISO 9001 certified means we have robust quality systems in place to ensure that our client receives a consistent service which we maintain through regular site inspections, non-conformance reports and escalation policies. Our management team work undertake unannounced audits. We regularly train and re-train our people to make sure our staff meet the expected standards set by H&W and our client.

H&W offers a number of cleaning proposals designed specifically for healthcare environments, all focused on creating safe environments for both patients and staff.

Results

As a result of good communication between the cleaning team, H&W and our client control the standard of cleaning is constantly high. H&W are also able to make changes quickly and adopt the service delivery in line with the requirements of our client, examples of this would be: changes to cleaning schedules, to working practices and with cleaning hours to fit around theatre run-ons
